How I found One That Actually Worked For Me!

I have tried to gain weight/have a more muscular build for most of my life. I am the classic Ectomorph (skinny build) who could not add muscle no matter what I tried. When I graduated from high school I was 6′4”, 160 pounds. In high school, I tried various body building workouts with my friends for a few months. For some of my friends, the workouts produced great results, for me, nothing. See, the friends I had who got great results were already bigger than me to begin with, their body types more easily put on weight and strength when they stuck to a body building workout program. I was simply spinning my wheels, not seeing any results from the fitness workouts. I figured it was just the way things were going to be.

Throughout college and after I graduated I still went to the gym regularly. You know the drill probably, 2 days of upper body, 2 days of lower body each week with maybe a day of cardio or abs thrown in there. I guess I was benefiting my body by exercising regularly but I sure didn’t look any different!

My luck changed about a year ago when I talked to a guy at the gym I had seen around before who was carrying around a book as he worked out. I had seen other people carrying around articles and books on workouts for body building but I decided to ask him what it was since he was pretty big and maybe this routine was the reason. He let me take a look, it was called No-Nonsense Muscle Building by a guy named Vince Delmonte. He said he was in the middle of the “kickstart” portion of the program and was really seeing results. I am glad I did the Jumpstart as it does things like get your flexibility up and gets you to focus on some of your weak spots like my shoulders, which were weak due to too many bench presses and not enough shoulder presses.

Long story short, after the Jumpstart, I started the 29 week program Vince designed for “hardgainers” like myself, which is based upon blasting the muscle to exhaustion without too many sets, then proper rest and eating foods that stimulate growth hormones like testosterone. And, damn, I started to grow! Not what I was expecting, and really the program is not any harder than aother routines I have done, it’s just that it is designed for the body type I have, which is naturally lean.

As Vince said, if you stick to it, you will start to see results in the first few weeks, look at these pictures of guys that stuck to it, it will work.

The best part is it is not just an E Book and then see ya later, you can go to a forum and ask questions you have and talk with other guys who are going through it, and if the book gets updated, you will get the newest version emailed to you which is pretty cool.

Workouts For Body Building Before You Go Hard Core

When I first got Vince’s body building workouts program I was pumped to get it going and start the 29 week program the next day. However, after looking at all of the materials I realized I should start with the Jumpstart program first.

In the Jumpstart program he talks about some of the basics you should have right first to provide a solid core and to prevent future injuries. There is nothing worse than pulling a muscle and have to sit out a couple weeks waiting for it to heal. Two of the parts he emphasized in the Jumpstart program was shoulder stability and lower body flexibility, 2 things I know I was weak on. Too many bench presses and not enough shoulder presses had made my shoulders rounded and weak, and I never took the time to stretch my legs prior to doing squats or whatever. We all know we should stretch before any body building training but we often blow it off. Just taking 10 minutes to stretch, and he shows you easy ones to do, will prevent those 2 week layoffs.

So I did the Jumpstart program which, if you want to understand it click here, and entered my progress in the members forum you get access to, which is pretty cool because you can chat with other guys doing the program and get body building tips from them as well. If you do not belong to a gym, one of the bonuses you get is a video showing at home workouts that are just as good. Once I finished Jumpstart, I started the beginner/intermediate 29 week program (you have a choice of beginner/intermediate or advanced). If you do both, you got one years worth of workouts all laid out for you.

Because Vince lays out a program that is designed especially for hardgainers like myself, he teaches you how to eat and how to lift to get maximum benefit. Things like avoiding high reps and overtraining, and eating exactly what your body needs to increase testosterone and other growth hormone production. That was the key for me, as a skinny guy is lacking in that area, but it is a problem that is easily solved. But you wont find these solutions in other body building programs. I think the reason you don’t is the muscle magazines have to hump the creatine and protein powders and other stuff whose price really adds up. But you don’t need it, just lift the right way, eat stuff that aids in muscle recovery and do it again in a couple days. Track you progress in the members area, get body building tips from other guys who are doing it, and before you know it you are seeing real progress.

Body Building Workouts That Actually Work For A Skinny Guy

As a skinny guy all of my life, I thought that’s just the way things are going to be, nothing I can do about it. I had belonged to gyms for years, tried tons of body building workouts and I basically looked the same year after year. My efforts in the gym were not really paying off (except for the basic benefits of exercising). When I look back now, I realize that going to the gym had just become a social occasion where I could catch up with all of my friends and go through the routine of lifting but not really expecting any results.

About a year ago, things changed for me when me and my friends started talking to a guy at the gym who was following a body building program that was really working for him and what got my attention was I remembered this guy from 6 months back or so, and he looked like me! Tall, skinny, not much definition. And now 6 months later he was getting pretty big. He was following a book he had bought about muscle building that was designed for anyone to see results, even skinny guys like me (and him before).

So, after talking to him a few times, I decided to give it a try, I figured the worst that could happen is I would stay the same, which is exactly what I was doing anyway. The book was by a fitness pro from Canada named Vince Delmonte, and the book is called No-Nonsense Muscle Building.

I bought it and actually did not even start following the book as it comes with a 29 week Jumpstart program which helps you get going on the right foot. I started the Jumpstart program that week, and the results were not what I was used to. See, the program Vince created is really custom made for those that have a hard time gaining weight and strength, as that is the body type Vince had as well. He went through the same struggles I did for years, and he figured out what was missing from standard workout routines and added the missing ingredients that signal your body to grow.
